3.Volatile canisters (single, double, triple) (anesthetic gases: halothane,

-isoflurane, sevoflurane, halothane)
4.Respiratory circuit
5.Control panel (touch screen anesthesia machines do not come with)
6.Display (touch screen anesthesia machine can be directly touch screen

-operation control)
7.Soda-lime canister (absorbs exhaled CO2 and maintains temperature and

-humidity of respiratory gases)
8.Storage box body (with or without)

Function of the anesthesia machine

Delivery of Anesthesia and Oxygenation

▪️Combines medical gases (oxygen, nitrous oxide, or air) with anesthetic agents (e.g., isoflurane, sevoflurane) to deliver a controlled mixture.
▪️Precisely regulates anesthetic concentrations to achieve and maintain
the desired level of anesthesia.
▪️Ensures adequate oxygen supply to the patient, supporting tissue oxygenation throughout the surgical procedure.

Ventilation Support and Gas Monitoring

▪️Assists or completely controls the patient’s breathing using mechanical ventilation, particularly for patients under general anesthesia.
▪️Continuously monitors and displays critical gas levels, including oxygen, carbon dioxide, and anesthetic agent concentrations, to ensure patient
safety and proper functionality.

Humidification and Temperature Regulation

▪️Delivers humidified and temperature-controlled gases to maintain
airway moisture and temperature, preventing airway drying or cooling
during prolonged surgeries.

Scavenging Waste Gases and Safety Features

▪️Collects and safely disposes of excess anesthetic gases, minimizing exposure risks for healthcare staff and maintaining a safe operating environment.
▪️Includes advanced alarms and safety mechanisms to detect issues
such as low oxygen levels, excessive pressure, or machine malfunctions.
▪️Incorporates fail-safes to prevent the delivery of dangerously low
oxygen concentrations, ensuring patient safety.

How does an anesthesia machine work

1.Gas delivery: The anesthesia machine delivers the necessary gases to the patient via a gas source (oxygen, nitrous oxide or air). These gases are supplied by a gas source (e.g., a cylinder or a central gas supply system) and are precisely controlled in terms of flow and pressure by means of a regulating device within the anesthesia machine.

2.Evaporation of anesthetics: Liquid volatile anesthetics (e.g., isoflurane, sevoflurane, or diflurane) are evaporated through the evaporator of the anesthesia machine and mixed with oxygen or air to form an anesthetic gas mixture.

3.Gas mixing: The anesthesia machine ensures that the gases are properly proportioned and is usually based on oxygen, providing a certain concentration of anesthetic drugs and other gases (e.g., nitrous oxide). These gas mixtures are delivered to the respiratory circuit through flow meters and mixers.

4.Respiratory circuit and ventilation support: The anesthesia machine provides mechanical ventilation support to the patient by connecting to a ventilator or a manual device to ensure that the airway is open and lung ventilation is maintained.

5.Gas Discharge: Used gas is guided by the loop to the exhaust gas discharge system to prevent excessive concentration of anesthetic gas in the operating room.
